The Englishman's Boy
The plot shoots back into 1873. This is shown in third person of this unknown character “ The Englishman’s boy”. He is on a boat to Fort Benton. The rising conflict for the Englishman’s boy to lead into such an important part of the book is the following. When he arrives he stays in an Inn with a man named Dawe. He winds up killing him and taking his money. He pays the innkeeper extra to clean up the body then leaves immediately. The innkeeper was outraged. Days later he was in the Star Saloon and the innkeeper came in and threatened him. He yelled and launched a punch at the boys ear. He ignored him and the inn keeper threw another blow. The Englishman’s boy pulled out a knife and stabs the innkeeper and walks out. A man named Hardwick comes out of the Saloon and tells him he wont be wanted here. He wants him to accompany him and his wolfers to go get their stolen horses back from the Indians.
